You can clear the beds for 3 more small slots, but then have to wasn't a large slot for barracks or make bed outposts. It comes with 3 large slots and 2 small slots. The field offers more slots, but if you have a larger community you have to use them for beds or make a bunch of bed outposts. It is a maze of fences, but zeds can hop them from pretty much every direction. The PA is cool and will play white noise to keep zeds away, but the field is otherwise indefensible. It has 2 watchtowers whether you want them or not. Whitney Field is cool, but I guess I still prefer the container fort. It gives you materials and booze when you move in by dismantling the laundry machines and liquor store and will then have 3 large and 3 small slots to build. It provides a passive art gallery morale boost and once you repair the urgent care it provides 3 passive beds.

Those are nice I guess, but its not as customizable and make things like the sheriffs field hospital a waste.
#State of decay 3 container fort workshop update
They fixed the roof at the strip mall in the update today, but my biggest gripe is that you waste a good portion of slots to prebuilts: Urgent care, gym, bathroom, kitchen. It also has high walls and few entrances making it pretty defensible. In total: 2 large and 5 small slots that you can build on.

It only has 2 large slots compared to the other base's 3. It also has a passive Castle Defense bonus that has 4 passive watchtowers that cost no ammo to man. The container fort workshop provides 8 passive beds. Then put in your workshop and your infirmary and you are good to go.īut for long term playthroughs, odds are you are going to end up changing maps and using all three of them at some point. Then you can easily have 2 hydroponics (1 food/1 med), a still, a staging area, a lounge, and a trade depot. If you have the builder boon you don't have to worry about water or power outposts or facilities, put beds in your outposts. It is the one with the most options of what to do with it, especially for a long term playthrough. It comes with two watchtowers in the fortified bleachers. The ball field has 3 large slots and up to 5 small slots if you destroy all the beds. Strip mall has 4 entrance/exits to defend, container fort has 2. The strip mall gives you three large slots vs the container fort's two, on small slots you are looking at a max of 4 small slots at the strip mall after disposing of beds, but 5 small slots at the fort, which has 8 built in beds as well as Castle Doctrine which counts as watchtowers and uses no ammo. You really don't hear many people brag on the ball field. You will normally find most people prefer either the Container Fort or Strip Mall.
